Lake Tahoe Elopement
8.4.2020
When Dawniel inquired about my services, I knew immediately that it was going to be a great match. Dawniel, and her then fiancé Matt, had studied abroad in Bangelore, India and Viterbo, Italy, respectively, in college. The funny thing is... I studied in both Bangelore and Viterbo. Serendipity if you ask me. Naturally, we knew we would have loads to talk about and felt like we kind of already knew each other. Connections like these mean everything to me and the photo session benefits immensely.
Dawn had voiced her concerns to me that she thought it would be hard for her to open up and be emotional while she had cameras on her. She planned to save her vows until Matt and her were alone at dinner. And she was unsure of how they would do in front of the camera. I understood how she felt, I mean until you are in the moment, you never really know how it will play out.
Well, when it came to the big day, lots of plans changed. Things started to fall behind with the timeline, Dawn changed her dress at the last minute and so on. But honestly, nothing phased them. The entire day Dawn and Matt laughed and just let everything be what it may. Dawn even said her vows during the ceremony! This, to me, reflects what traveling can do to the soul. Plans change and rearrange. At the end of the day, if you are with the one you love, then laugh, run and jump into that big blue lake! I am so thankful to have been a part of this amazing day and for you to have opened up your hearts so much to me.
Congrats Dawniel and Matt!
